Discover 800 Degrees | South Park

If you’ve ever wandered through SouthPark looking for a place that balances artisan flavor with a laid-back vibe, 800 Degrees | South Park at 6815 Phillips Pl Ct, Charlotte, NC 28210, United States, deserves your attention. Tucked into one of Charlotte’s most polished shopping and dining districts, this spot brings the spirit of authentic Neapolitan pizza to the Queen City-without the fuss, but with all the fire.

The first thing you notice is the aroma. It’s that unmistakable scent of dough blistering in a high-temperature oven, mixed with fresh basil and bubbling mozzarella. The restaurant’s name isn’t random. Cooking at around 800 degrees Fahrenheit is the hallmark of true Neapolitan-style pizza, a method recognized by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in Italy. That extreme heat cooks a thin crust in roughly 90 seconds, locking in flavor while creating the classic airy, slightly charred edge known as the cornicione. Watching the process unfold from the open kitchen feels almost theatrical, and it’s clear the team takes the craft seriously.

I’ve visited multiple times, and consistency stands out. On my first trip, I ordered the Margherita-a simple combination of San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. It’s often said by chefs, including culinary authority Marcella Hazan, that a true test of a pizza place is its Margherita. Here, the crust had the perfect chew, with delicate char spots underneath. The balance of acidity from the tomatoes and creaminess from the cheese was spot-on. During a later visit with friends, we sampled the Prosciutto pizza and a custom creation with spicy soppressata. Both were delivered to our table in minutes, hot and evenly cooked.

Beyond pizza, the menu branches into fresh salads, shareable appetizers, and a thoughtful selection of craft beers and wines. According to the National Restaurant Association, diners increasingly value customization and fresh ingredients, and you can see that trend reflected here. You choose your base, your sauce, your cheeses, and toppings-from roasted vegetables to premium meats-creating a personalized pie without sacrificing quality. The build-your-own process is straightforward, which makes it great for families or groups with different tastes.

The location itself adds to the experience. SouthPark is known for its upscale retail scene and steady foot traffic, so whether you’re stopping in after shopping or planning a casual dinner date, the setting feels convenient yet relaxed. Indoor seating is modern and bright, while patio options offer a breezy alternative during Charlotte’s warmer months. Reviews often mention the friendly staff, and I’ve found that to be accurate. Orders are explained clearly, dietary questions are answered patiently, and service moves at a comfortable pace.

From a broader dining perspective, the rise of fast-casual pizza concepts across the United States reflects shifting consumer habits. Research from Technomic highlights how speed, transparency, and perceived authenticity drive repeat visits. This restaurant seems to understand that balance. You get your meal quickly, yet nothing tastes rushed. The dough is fermented properly, the ingredients taste fresh, and the final product feels crafted rather than assembled.

Of course, no place is flawless. During peak weekend hours, finding parking around 6815 Phillips Pl Ct can take a few extra minutes. And because pizzas are cooked so quickly at high heat, slight variations in char can happen. Some diners love that rustic touch; others may prefer a more uniform bake. Still, these are minor details in an otherwise solid dining experience.

In a city packed with dining options, from traditional Italian trattorias to trendy fusion spots, this address in Charlotte stands out for delivering authentic wood-fired flavor in a casual setting. The menu is focused yet flexible, the reviews are largely positive, and the experience feels dependable. Whether you’re craving a classic Margherita, experimenting with gourmet toppings, or simply looking for a welcoming place in SouthPark to unwind with good food, this restaurant makes a strong case for becoming a regular stop on your local food circuit.

  • Chris was fantastic, upon entering he seated us quickly. Took our order and made sure that we had everything we needed. He also made sure that our food was cooked to our satisfaction and when we asked for recommendations he was quick to give us a few. 100% would come back. BTW try the PYT Drink

  • The food was fantastic, and the service by Morgan was even better. We will absolutely return. From the truffle fries to the Tom Collins, Bucatini with Burrata, and Bianca Pizza, all were superb! Morgan was equally as amazing, thank you!

  • Traveling for business and stopped in for an early dinner. I was a little disappointed, no happy hour, but was not a deal breaker for me. I loved the look and atmosphere of the bar area. There were 4 bartenders who were all equally attentive. I ordered The Greens, side option salad to start with, the lemon vinaigrette was AMAZING! For my entree, I went with the salmon, opted for the fingerling potato’s over the quinoa that came with it (I was told that was cold, so that was why I swapped). I loved the top crispiness and char on the salmon, while the inside was flaky and moist. I was too full to try the cookie dessert, but saw lots of those going out. Also, the meatloaf looked amazing, so that might be a contender for my next visit here. I also have to mention , that I LOVED the playlist of music that was playing. It was a little on the loud side, which did not bother me, but could be bothersome to some. There was live music that began to play before I left.

  • Phenomenal. Is the best way to describe the experience and food. I would consider 800 degrees as a multi space...there are 2 patios, indoor dining rooms, a bar and a speakeasy like space that offers live music on certain days of the week. The decor in every space is high end chic. Immediately after being greeted I was sat on the covered patio. I'll chalk up my long wait for service to a mere oversight since one large party was wrapping up as I was being seated and would remain the only party in that area. The staff quickly rebounded providing stellar service as well as remedying the issue with accommodation. Kristin and Chris left no stone unturned ensuring my evening was perfect. The food and beverages were prepared and delivered expeditiously. While I am not one to eat chicken cutlets while dining out, the fig and cherry reduction attracted me to the dish. It was amazing. The flavor profile is a combination of dif, cherry and badalmic vinegar reduced to a thick smoothe consistency. The smear on the plate was not enough so I had to request more. The chopped tomatoes with greens atop the chicken and broccolini made perfect accompaniments. The meal was so delicious, I made a salad the following day with the left overs using the reduction as the dressing. I recommend the chef should create a signature salad using these ingredients. The drink menu is extensive containing a myriad of beverages ranging from standard non-alcoholic to wines, spirits, and mocktails. The Mary Pickford was a great choice; with the right balance of sweet with a bite of tart and a smoothe smokey note. In all, 800 degrees didn't disappoint. I look forward to dining during one of their live music nights.
